Ingredients
  

For the Potatoes
  • 700 g small potatoes or 1-1.2kg medium potatoes
  • Salt (for boiling) Use coarse salt for better flavor infusion.
For the Flavor
  • 30 g Unsalted Butter, melted Ghee can be used for a higher smoke point.
  • 1 tbsp Olive Oil Feel free to substitute with vegetable oil.
  • 3/4 tsp Salt (for sprinkling) Flavored salts can enhance the taste.
  • 1/4 tsp Black Pepper Opt for freshly ground black pepper for the best flavor.
Optional Garnish
  • Finely Chopped Parsley Chives or other herbs can also be used.

Method
 

Cooking Instructions
  1. Start by boiling 700g of small potatoes or 1-1.2kg of medium potatoes in a large pot filled with salted water. Cook for 20-30 minutes until tender.
  2. Preheat your oven to 200°C (390°F) or 180°C (fan).
  3. Once cooked, drain the potatoes and let them steam dry for about 5 minutes.
  4. Transfer the dry potatoes onto a baking tray lined with parchment paper and gently smash them.
  5. Let the smashed potatoes sit on the tray for another 5 minutes.
  6. Drizzle the smashed potatoes with melted butter and olive oil, then sprinkle with salt and pepper.
  7. Bake for 45-55 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crispy.
  8. Serve hot, optionally garnished with finely chopped parsley.

Notes
