Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9 x 13 inch baking dish.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine crushed cornflakes with 4 tablespoons of melted butter. Set aside.
  3. Melt 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter in a large sauté pan over low heat. Sauté sliced green onions for 2-3 minutes.
  4. Sprinkle in 1/4 cup of flour, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, and 1/4 teaspoon of pepper. Stir and cook for 1-2 minutes.
  5. Gradually whisk in 1 cup of heavy whipping cream and 1/2 cup of half-and-half. Stir until thickened, about 3-5 minutes.
  6. Mix in 1 cup of shredded sharp cheddar cheese until melted. Fold in cooked crinkle-cut carrots and optional parsley flakes.
