Cooking Steps
  1. Season both sides of the cod fillets with salt and pepper. Let rest for a few minutes.
  2. Dredge the seasoned cod fillets in all-purpose flour, shaking off excess.
  3. Heat olive oil and unsalted butter in a skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  4. Sear the dredged cod fillets for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  5. Remove the cod from the skillet and cover with foil to keep warm.
  6. In the same skillet, add more butter and sauté minced garlic until fragrant.
  7. Pour in lemon juice and chicken broth, scraping up brown bits. Simmer for 1-2 minutes.
  8. Stir in capers and simmer for an additional 2 minutes.
  9. Whisk in remaining butter until melted and the sauce thickens.
  10. Return cod to the skillet, spooning sauce over fillets for about 1 minute.
  11. Plate the cod fillets and drizzle with caper sauce; garnish with parsley and lemon slices.
