Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, add 1 lb of ground beef. Cook until browned, about 7-10 minutes.
  3. Add the diced yellow bell pepper, chopped yellow onion, and finely chopped Bella mushrooms to the skillet. Cook for an additional 5-7 minutes until tender.
  4. Mix in the sauce ingredients: add tomato sauce, sugar-free ketchup, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, dry mustard, and onion powder. Cook for 3-5 minutes until bubbling.
  5. In a prepared baking dish, layer the cooked beef mixture and sprinkle shredded Colby Jack cheese over the top.
  6. Open the can of buttermilk biscuits, cut each biscuit into quarters, and evenly distribute over the cheesy mixture.
