Step-by-Step Instructions for Pizza Grilled Cheese
- Spread softened butter on one side of each slice of bread and sprinkle with garlic powder and Italian seasoning.
- Lay two slices of the buttered bread, buttered side down, on a cutting board. Spread marinara or pizza sauce, add mozzarella cheese and toppings, and place remaining bread on top, buttered side up.
- Heat a non-stick skillet over medium-low heat. Cook the sandwich for about 3-4 minutes until golden brown.
- Flip the sandwich carefully and cook for another 3-4 minutes until golden and cheese is melted.
- Remove from skillet, let cool, slice in half, and garnish with basil if desired.
