Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grind culinary lavender and Earl Grey tea. Set aside half of the ground lavender for frosting.
- In a large bowl, cream softened unsalted butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 1-2 minutes.
- Incorporate a room temperature egg and vanilla bean paste, mixing on medium speed until well combined.
- Whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and ground tea. Gradually add to wet ingredients until just combined.
- Scoop dough and roll in lavender sugar, then place on a baking sheet, flattening slightly. Space cookies apart.
- Bake for 9-10 minutes until lightly golden. Cool on the sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a rack.
- Beat cream cheese and butter until fluffy, then add powdered sugar and reserved lavender. Mix until smooth.
- Frost cooled cookies with lavender frosting and garnish with a sprinkle of lavender.
