Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Wash and hull 2 cups of fresh strawberries, cutting larger ones in half.
  2. Combine strawberries with 3/4 cup granulated sugar in a large bowl and mash until juicy.
  3. Pour in 1 cup of hot water and stir vigorously for 1 minute until sugar dissolves.
  4. Squeeze the juice of 10-12 lemons into the strawberry mixture, straining out seeds.
  5. Pour the mixture into a pitcher through a fine mesh strainer if a pulp-free drink is desired.
  6. Slowly stir in 3-4 cups of cold water, tasting for balance.
