  • ½ tablespoon dried chives Fresh chives can be used.
  • ½ tablespoon dried minced onion Fresh onion can be used but may need cooking time adjustment.
  • Salt and pepper To taste.
Dough
  • 1 can (8 ounces) Pillsbury crescent roll dough Use gluten-free for a gluten-free version.
  • ¼ cup salted butter, melted For brushing before baking.
  • ½ cup Italian breadcrumbs Panko can be used for extra crunch.
Gravy
  • 1 can (10 ounces) cream of chicken soup Can substitute with a homemade sauce.
  • 1 packet (1 ounce) chicken gravy mix Replace with homemade broth if desired.
  • ¾ cup water

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a large baking sheet.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, 1 tablespoon of butter, shredded chicken, chives, minced onion, salt, and pepper. Mix until smooth.
  3. Unroll the crescent roll dough, separate triangles, and press them together at the wide ends to form rectangles.
  4. Spoon the chicken mixture into each rectangle and seal to form a ball shape.
  5. Melt the remaining butter and dip each pillow before coating with breadcrumbs.
  6. Bake for 22 to 25 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Prepare the gravy by blending cream of chicken soup, gravy mix, and water in a saucepan over medium heat.
  8. Serve with gravy poured over the pillows.
